The metaphysical meaning of Christmas is love. It is that simple and that infinite. I tell you this in the beginning so that you will keep this thought while we try to understand more deeply this mystery called Christmas.
Examine this. What destiny brought you here to understand a little more completely this personal gift of Christmas? This was intended by the soul we know as Jesus the Christ to be a personal revelation to each of you. Christ came into this world as the incarnation of Christmas time to make the human consciousness – to use a modern word – RADIOACTIVE. The power to send out the energy of the soul for a positive purpose is radioactive. The infinite total of this energy is love – the message to us is to be the personification of love. To exude it, to use it, and to manifest God on the earth.
Christmas is not just an event on the calendar. It is something that takes the individual and determines the nature and course of his life. It is the quality of the soul and the power of the soul. This response is brought to us in many ways by the symbols of this time of the year and by the Christmas story. Whether or not we recognize this as so, it is so. Universal symbols go beyond the intellect and act on every man through the power of the superconscious. So it is at Christmas that we celebrate the first moment of the consciousness of the soul. This “radioactive” thing must be done in the soul.
It is the essence of illumination when a person can find himself aware to some degree outside of his ordinary experience. Then it is said that he has been illumined. This is where your destiny has brought you. Every Christmas you are prompted by the Holy Birth, the beautiful lights, the symbol of gifts, the tree of life, and the abundance of delights to follow this destiny to become illumined.
Since this experience was meant to be a personal experience, think of this as a dream, a dream full of symbols that you remember forever and ever. Begin to interpret the dream as your symbolic guide to your illumination.
Have a blessed Christmas
