I read this quote in a book somewhere. I don’t remember where or when, but I know it was many decades ago. It was so poignant. Then and now, it reminds us how what we think of another individual reinforces the behavior we might view as a problem. Our negative feelings about our negative perception of behavior fuel more of the same.
All of life is energy, and when we respond negatively, the energy we send out is authentic, and we feed the beast we have come to expect. We are no longer observers of Karma but become participants in Karma. When we can catch this reaction and consciously change, we are genuinely “light workers.” Today’s politics is a perfect opportunity to practice. Instead of reacting to the opposite viewpoint, we can send the healing light into the midst of disagreement.
Sometimes, it is in reverse. When we have a particular “button” that some person unknowingly pushes, we have a chronic response. We expect to be considered ‘the beast,’ so we slink away because we will be less than others. My history is with assertive women because, as a child, aggression preceded being hit or discarded. That is my button. I haven’t been hit in 70 years. It appears that I wasted 69+ years being the epitome of insanity. I was doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result when I could have let those years go in one healing instant. Have you ever done this in your life?
Finally, as I learned that the Divine is in every human, including myself, I expanded my cadre of friends to have beautiful, bold, colorful women. I outgrew my response of being the beast and saw the truth of them and myself.
It is time. Let us reflect only love to each unique expression that the mind of God created.
