I promised to give signposts to help the reader with ideas that would speed up your good, but I think I may have been a teeny bit obscure, so I will just lay out what occurred to change my path for the better. Maybe you can identify with the evolution.
From birth, I lived life out of touch with practical living. Earth life was foreign to me. The life events were just that, negative and positive. Foster homes, girl’s home. I was moving at age seven from sophisticated New York to backwoods Texas, back into foster care. I married as a teenager. My total awareness was in my mind, a swirly, place that could never entirely embrace the functionality of living. Please, this is not a feel sorry for me kind of revelation. This life afforded me insights, awareness, and independence that might never have taken root in a TV Sitcom childhood.
Life rolled on, and slowly, I mean years, studying the principles of New Thought, life got incrementally better. The primary event was the total absorption of the presence of God/Universal Spirit/Source Energy into my life, which was the magical turning point of living in the flow. In retrospect, I remember the moment when the change occurred. I had surrendered to this presence. Thinking back, that was almost impossible. What the heck – I’m Irish! Surrender is not in my vocabulary.
Through a series of events, my second husband and I became ministers at Unity of Waco; Unity called us Spiritual Leaders. When it came time to retire from that position we talked about what would we do next as we had several opportunities and I remember saying, “There is no wrong choice, God is with us.” At the time, I didn’t realize how decisive that moment of surrender was. Later, when we were reviewing how good life became and trying to identify the turning point, we realized it was that moment when surrender happened.
We had been studying how thoughts and words affected outcomes. We had been learning how to manifest and about prosperity. We had been studying how healing occurs and how the One Force, God energy was in the cells of our body and the breath that was breathed into us at birth. This study congealed and became influential in acknowledging that God is with us.
